In my defence - and in view of the fact that you are as new to me as I am to you (or should that be the other way round?) - I should probably add that my "kidding" was also meant to have the more serious rhetorical purpose of asking you how an illusory entity can have any thoughts for another illusory entity to ask about. "Cogito, ergo sum", and all that. (How do Buddhists deal with Descartes?)
Put like that, it's a rather crude question, therefore it seemed better just to "kid", so that you could take it or leave it. Whether kidding or not, it probably pulls the thread off course - a bad habit of mine, if the BBC Radio 4 message boards are anything to judge by! - so my apology stands.
