I remember, in a friend's house, sticking a red-and-silver horseshoe
magnet into a mains outlet socket, because I was scientifically
curious, and I had just read something somewhere about electricity
being connected to magnetism.  The interesting outcome of this
experiment was that I found myself rapidly transported to the other
side of the room on my back.
