Instructive in what way?

I don't think it is a bad thing entirely to conduct a treatment that
way but only on the basis of patient awareness, though I'd think that
awareness may actually inhibit positive results.  But if placebo
didn't bring about desired change then how much time lost, how more
advanced has the problem become?  The increasing risks must be
examined when initiating placebo treatment.
