“…...we are constantly pulled down by our visceral and basic
tendencies (lower self)....” – PSC

I realize that this is a common belief; however, I see a few issues
with it.

First, the notion of being ‘pulled down’ is troublesome. What exactly
is doing the pulling? Is it our instincts to survive? IF so, I’m not
so sure the direction being pulled is ‘down’. If not our instincts,
then what? Tendencies are mentioned. Yet, how did these come about?
>From where did they come? What exactly is their nature?...if anything.
IF they ‘exist’, how do they pull us down? IF it is neither of these,
then what?

I find that with any coherent analysis, that there isn’t anything
doing the ‘pulling’. What about you?
