Did the Mind of God unfold against His will? If so, then you are correct. If not, (and, I ask you, What can occur outside the will of an omnipotent being?) then you are incorrect and the unfolding MUST have been willing and, therefore, a conscious act. Think about it. Your concept of 'the Cosmic Egg' is very similar to my proposal of a stage where all energy was 'potential' in form rather than kinetic in any way.
