Aliens or God? To ask the question is to agree God is not an alien.
That would be like asking: "Aliens or Anna(*)? For God is a proper
noun naming a unique individual, while alien is a common noun naming a
class. So how is God unlike an alien? For one things, if he classic
theistic arguments are correct, the aliens are as much a creature of
God as you or I.

We are fascinated by the prospect of non-human intelligent beings that
are not God. In past it would not be fear of aliens, but fear of
devils (fallen angels).

In fact the argument for aliens is a degraded form of the argument for
angels. It is the ontological principle of plenitude applied to space
instead of the hierarchy of being. Listen to Hawking:

"The universe, he points out, has 100 billion galaxies, each
containing hundreds of millions of stars. In such a big place, Earth
is unlikely to be the only planet where life has evolved."

(*) Anna is the proper name of the head of the V aliens
