"How would one distinguish between that of ... aliens, angels or
djinn?". Treat them as objects of philosophical thought, independent
of the question of existence. Begin with term definitions. What is an
angel? What is an alien?

Now per Clarke's third law "any sufficiently advanced technology" we
learn something. Aliens are thought of as minds dependent on matter.
As a result, they share at least some of our human limits. Deprive him
of his technology, the alien foe is cut down to size. Deprive him of
the parcel of matter his mind directly controls, he is utterly
powerless.

In contrast, angels are minds not dependent on matter. As a result
their powers range far beyond those of any extraterrestrial. They are
extra-cosmological. Satan vs Predator? Please. No contest. The weakest
pure intellect could crush the entire spatio-temporal universe to a
pea.
