Ah the etymology of religions. To me it is absolutely fascinating. I writing this and laughing.. i understand they leave wondering what kind of wackos are involved. ( that includes myself.) To be religious you more or less following a strict set of beliefs. . A theist beliefs in a ¿personal? God. The two words are semi interchangeable.
