config.guess yes, but not config.sub, which is the one for shortcut
environment options (--host=mingw32 translates, but not mingw64)

I see, so the workarounds needed are in uname, which is the one used
by config.guess.

Will take me a long retraining to do CVS again and look into uname.
(me not happy anymore)
