I guess this only happens when there are girls in the car. My stock
exhaust fell off, with my girlfriend in the car, on our way to her parents
house for the first time. Needless to say _everyone_ heard us pull up to
the driveway.

A friend of mine had a similar experience here in San Diego,
although he didn't bend a rim. He got the city to pay for a new
tire and an alignment. Of course this wasn't a huge expense,
but it's worth a try!
Speaking of bad stuff happening on dates, I was out with a
girl last summer when my old stock exhaust fell halfway off
started dragging on the freeway, shooting sparks behind us.
When we got to a gas station, she tried to make me feel better
by saying "your car IS very clean". Thanks.
