I run red citylights on my black car, and clear ones on my white car.  It's 
all preference.

Easiest way...remove the plug from the back of the front fender markers, and 
use those wires.  This way, they come on with the parking lights, and you 
also eliminate the US-spec fender markers.  If you want to get a bit more 
involved, you can wire up a ground-side switch so you can turn the city 
lights on and off indepenantly of the parking lights.  I highly reccomend 
that if you decide to run colored bulbs, as they -can- be seen through the 
normal light produced by the main bulb.
