Another thing that A1s are infamous for is a bad ground.  Check that
the grounds are clean and tight.  Heck - even try running a
supplemental ground.  My 16v Slorocco wouldn't start in cold weather
regardless of what I did - after replacing every sensor, the 5th
injector and a few other pieces we FINALLY diagnosed a faulty ground
cable.  Now that it's in, the car starts easily even in our balmy 20
degree weather.
