PS- You are the first person I've heard say that the B3s aren't full of
electrical issues :-). I don't believe those that say they are, anyway.

The easiest supplemental ground is from the head to the negative
terminal on the battery. The ground issues tend to be more chassis
related - the A1s are the worst with the A2s running a close second.
I don't believe that the Passats suffered from grounding issues
although is certainly wouldn't hurt to run a supplemental ground
anyways.
