Well.. The Mac OS X system uses UTF-8 for its file system level.
I also set LANG environment variable to UTF-8 in terminal.
However the launched mlnet still recognize its encoding as US-ASCII.

Well, yes. With the Finder, I can write in languages other than English. In
its Terminal program, I also can write file names that way.
