Kieth why did you not give up linux like the rest of your mates? you seem to put yourself in the same category. I ask becuase I would like to know what makes people tick.It seems I'm much too involved (even emotionally) to understned the mentality of categories 2 and 3. I really can't belive that a prospective IT student gives up on linux "Because it is to difficult to configure" I'm much more inclined to belive that there is some killer app on windows that such users are not willing to part with. I know some power users for whom Linux is just not an option because they breath Photoshop/Freehand/Quark.

David - I doubt it hehehe..

I have "ticked" several time but I've stuck with Linux for several reasons (and these may be useful points for Linux promotion):

1) I don't use illegal software, so if I use Windows I have to buy everything 2) I love the open source concept, not just for software, but as a way of life (hello RMS)
3) I like, as it were, underdogs
