The problem lies in 2 and 3. Advanced users and Experts aren't as
"litterate" as Geniuses and Uber Geeks, however, they would like to do
more stuff then novices and total beginners. So, they'd want to
install programs, configure stuff, etc.. etc.. Which is difficult. I
think many budding computer students (such as myself) fall into these
two categories. Most computer students simply abandon Linux and use
Windows, maybe until they're geniuses/uber geeks. Very few keep trying
ad nauseum.

Kieth why did you not give up linux like the rest of your mates? you
seem to put yourself in the same category.
I ask becuase I would like to know what makes people tick.It seems I'm
much too involved (even emotionally) to understned the mentality of
categories 2 and 3. I really can't belive that a prospective IT student
gives up on linux "Because it is to difficult to configure"
I'm much more inclined to belive that there is some killer app on
windows that such users are not willing to part with.
I know some power users for whom Linux is just not an option because
they breath Photoshop/Freehand/Quark.
