I've been searching for a good ISP...

I have also been doing that lately...my dice rolled onto Euroweb and
I shall try them as soon as Datastream gets around to letting me do so.

and apparently it's a tad rare
locally.

Iva.

I need an ISP that matches the following criteria

1) Does not have any download limits (for all those Gentoo updates!)

Some of them (all? most?) have recently added this wonderful "feature' <gag>

2) Actually gives you the bandwidth you pay for (ex: With Keyworld I
can only download at 40Kb/s... With Maltanet I could download at
120Kb/s - using a 1024K account on both).
3) Does not block ports (especially port 25).

Maltanet (and perhaps some others) apparently do not block lots
of ports now...I suspect that is because of item number one above.

I'm now able to work on building a chat system which has p2p file transfer built-in from my place in Valletta. That occurred when they added the DL limit "feature".

Encouraging more use, in any fashion, results in more earnings
for them as when you exceed the limit you must pay extra.

I would *love* to find an inexpensive satellite ISP service or a Mediterranean
wide WiMax service which would circumvent these "inventive" Maltese business people.

I'm also interested in hearing of a "good" ISP in Malta. :-/
