For the blue hue : https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+question/7373 might help
Regarding the sound issues, I'm thinking it's due to pulseaudio, not too sure, as I don't use Ubuntu myself. Regarding the swap space, what you have to do is resize the partition. This can be done by using a live cd -- (the Ubuntu live cd can be used here) or the gparted live cd. Resizing is done like this : http://gparted.sourceforge.net/larry/resize/resizing.htm. You can probably resize from both sides of a partition. This process will take some time though, as gparted spends a lot of time doing consistency checks - still, make sure to back up your data. About the hardware, sorry I can't help there. Drivers on Linux can be a problem. Have you tried ubuntuforums.org?
