Jeremy, Not asking for pirated copy. Actually would use www.logmein.com to make use of that individuals XP system for a few hours.
And if the person had his laptop for sale with an XP version that we need, we are interested. I use www.logmein.com to do maintenance for quite a few systems. I even use it and then use putty on that system to manage a Centos system. Since we know MS does not do eval copies nor do they even sell XP standalone anymore, you are basically asking for pirated software (especially with the "evalation" (sic) in quotes). There are ways to legally get what you want, but these should be obvious and do not need to be discussed on a linux list. *cough* netbooks *cough* logmein to clients.
