Hej,
I would first start with the following tools to see if it is recognized by
the OS.
# is the usb module loaded
lsmod | grep usb
# can you see any devices
lsusb
# can you see when the dev is plugged in
dmesg
and
ls /sys/bus/usb
What Linux kernel ( uname -a ) do you have?
