This is a very pragmatic and realistic approach, since I expect to
spend the majority of my time reading and hearing Chinese rather than
writing it - I have a relatively small amount of recognition sentence
cards and they're indeed much easier to deal with (and, perhaps, more
useful in really understanding the language than individual obscure
terms like "printed circuit board" :D). Once I've finished adding
words from the couple of Chinese books lying about here (so that I
feel I know the most common characters), I'll probably switch focus to
do more sentence recognition work.
