I'm completely at a loss: I tried to download the package twice, but
to no avail ("failed to decompress"), but when i did the checks you
recommended, i got the same results

"
dhcp226017:~ rasul$ which dvipng
/usr/texbin/dvipng
dhcp226017:~ rasul$ which latex
/usr/texbin/latex
"

& yet i still get the same error with mnemosyne: problem with latex.
are latex and dvipng installed? (from Q: test A: <$> \alpha </$>)

and quitting & restarting didn't do anything for me.

any thoughts? I sure can't figure it out.

thanks for all the help.
