Oh, apologies - you probably installed the same package I did then.
TexShop was installed on my Macbook by the MacTeX package, but I never
use it since I don't usually work with latex directly; I use the LyX
WYSIWYM interface.

Strange that you should have problems with it... The only problem I
had was the first time I tried using latex in Mnemosyne (making a card
with question/answer like <$>\alpha</$> and previewing it), it told me
dvipng and latex couldn't be found.
I quit Mnemosyne and opened it again, and everything worked then.

I've done very little under the hood other with this install, since
Chinese fonts worked out of the box this time (last time was a real
headache which ultimately failed). I'd suspect that MacTeX didn't
install completely if dvipng and/or latex aren't available.

When you complete the installation again, open Terminal and
double-check the output of 'which dvipng' and 'which latex':

;;;;
Jehannum:MacOS oisin$ which dvipng
/usr/texbin/dvipng
Jehannum:MacOS oisin$ which latex
/usr/texbin/latex
;;;;

And don't forget to quit and restart Mnemosyne just in case.
