-do you get any error messages on shutdown? What do they say exactly?
I don't get a message, just no reaction. After restarting, it gives me the
message that it might already be running so I
should exit or it might cause errors.
-Is there anything in C:\Users\marion\.mnemosyne\error_log.txt?
Nothing, error_log is empty.
-Is there any error log in C:\Program Files\Mnemosyne\?
Nothing.
-when you kill the program, start it again, and ignore the warning about an
unclean shut down, does it look like you previous repetitions were saved or
not?Everything I did is saved (new cards as well as repetitions)
-is your home directory read only?
Yes, by default (HP ProBook).
-does your user name contain any non latin characters?
No.

don't understand everything that is discussed there.

I'd be happy if you could help me to debug this problem so that we can fix it.

On XP I never had similar problems.
So what can I do? End the program all the time with the task manager
isn't an acceptable solution...
