Believe it or not, I agree with both these points, at least in part - the
first one absolutely 100%. And it is true that a large number of very
mediocre tracks get played purely on the strength of rarity. That said, of
course, there are also any number of other reasons why records from the 60's
are rare, usually relating more to the business practices of the time rather
than the quality of the track - and those are the gems that keep people
interested.
