Hey Hey Kids
In a similar sort of art / gallery vein, I got up early this morning so I
popped into town to see a new exhibition in Sheff, "Tete a Tete - photos by
Henri Cartier-Bresson". Thorougly recommended if its a touring exhibition (i'm
not sure if it is), great b/w photos from 1920 up to modern day (heavy focus on
50s/60s though). Luther-King, Hancock, Satre...they're all there.
And Helen Dansette, I agree completely with your lightbulb jibes. It seems too
many artists today just do things 'cos they think it's 'hip', 'passe' or
'kitsch' or whatever. No imagination whatsoever. It's the sort of stuff people
go and see 'cos they think they've got to and walk out thinking to themselves
"what a crock of shite that was...". Then they'll go straight to the nearest
Starbuck's cafe and start with the old "what a fantastic exhibition i've just
been to see..." routine.
Anyway, I've gotta get back to the real world so see ya later kids,
Dorian.
