Nostalgia for the oldsters and narrow mindedness in the young I reckon.
I play weekly at Uptight, not a mod club but a largely mod playlist, and
all that the over 30's mods ever ask for seems to be Spencer Davis
Group, Small Faces, The Who etc.. and on Saturday 2 young girls were
visiting from London (going on about how cool the Purple Pussycat was
etc.) and they kept asking for SDG and Creation all night. Funnily
enough it's usually the non mods who trip us up with the requests we
ain't got.

Saturday night's highlight for me was being told by a mate that he got
his haircut and gone straight back to basics as a direct reaction to
watching that early hours of the morning London mod tv nonsense from a
few weeks back. Cool. Oh and Neil, apologies for forgetting to play
Groovy Woovy later on but Red Stripe got the better of me.

Cheers
