Richard,

We are running ModusMAIL 1.x on one of our Windows 2000 Server. Why, you
ask? Because what ModusMAIL 3.x is to me, is what I thought ModusMAIL 1.x
was going to be. The jump to 2.0 didn't seem worth the upgrade "hassle" yet,
so we waited for ModusMAIL 3.x. We are going to do the upgrade soon (perhaps
today).
We NEVER like being the "first" to install anything. We've been burnt by
almost every manufacturer, driver and any thing else I can think of by
installing the latest one. Therefore, unless it's a security issue, we like
waiting at least three (3) months to make sure it's stable (or at least we
think it is). So, As long as 1.4 owners can have at least 90 days (I'd think
180) to migrate over to ModusMAIL 3.x while continuing to get the ModusMAIL
1.x Virus Updates and Sieve Updates, it shouldn't be that large of an issue.

BTW, I never got a response if we can upgrade straight from ModusMAIL 1.x
to ModusMAIL 3.x?

Thanks guys!

Sincerely,
CXP

Daniel Rhoden

To receive anti-virus updates, someone must have an active service plan,
which also includes software updates (including v3). Versions 2.x (released
over a year ago) outperformed version 1.4 in the anti-spam by including more
advanced Sieve constructs. Version 3, as witnessed on this list, performs
even better.

Under these conditions, could you elaborate on why anyone would still want
to run version 1.4 (3 versions behind the current one) when he is entitled
to v3?

Richard.
