That sounds way too cheap. Are you going to charge them a setup for the web signup? Even at 50 cents per email it comes up to $1500. Those 3000 accounts can eat up a lot of bandwidth and server costs and at $400 a month your real margin of profit will be next to nothing or possibly even in negative numbers. My margins are typically better than industry standard. I recently had an opportunity to provide mail service to a fairly large NJ city for public access by citizens of that city. Basically they want a hotmail type service for its citizens. How do you typically price your mail services? By number of users? I quoted what I thought was a good price for 400 a month for a custom mail service with up to 3000 accounts.
