+4 if 2007... so unlikely to be corroded tank (though I wouldn't rule out the possiblity of tank leakage - seams etc.) Have you checked the breather pipe (filler breather) - it's a not unkown problem for the breather pipe to be too long, become kinked and cause just the problem you have. Also, one to watch for - do not overfill, this can put fuel into the charcoal canister, which may smell of petrol for days... Good hunting!
