I've had this one perish too - leads to petrol fumes with no obvious leak. I 
spotted it on filling up  - watching the fuel trickle down onto the exhaust!

Fitting a new pipe is straight forwards but it is a tight fit in a small space 
- be prepared to lose a little knuckle skin!!
