the 3 you mentioned are all to old to be Frank and Nicholson in
particular would be Frank, he'd be Jack
Hopkins accent wouldn't make him convincing
and De Niro.. here he is as Frank:
"I've got you-u un-der my skin... .. hey.. you lookin at me?? you
lookin at me?? There's nobody else here....."
I would actually suggest he goes with someone either:
1) unknown
or
2) an established singer.. Harry Conick Jr may be a good choice

Wouldn't mind at all, tho it was only meant as a humorous aside, and
I fear he may have a few more pressing projects up his sleeve. I'm
still waiting in anticipation for his documentary on British film
that he's been working on with Ms Schoonmaker for xx years now. With
that, directing major new feature films, and restoring old ones,
he's certainly not a man who likes to sit still.
