kerry,

your 2 separate comments about 2 different sellers was easy to understand. there certainly wasnt any criss-crossing of wires, at least on your end.

You ended an auction and PULLED it early because YOU made a mistake on shipping destinations? And an honest and, it sounds like, a new ebay'er (with little feedback, as all newbies have), placed a bid and because you didnt want to mail it, you yanked it?

Its these same shenanigans that sellers do that also has given ebay a bad name. When that bidder placed a bid, he began a contractual obligation with you. You mention, and basically accuse the buyer possibly not being honorable?? On what basis? Are you kidding? All these excuses as to why you were justified in pulling the auction. None hold water. What *you* did was dishonorable. Shame on you.

This kind of action is NO different than that of non paying, winning bidders.

i ended an auction early 2 weeks ago because the bidder was from europe with small feedback. i forget to set the item as NO OUTSIDE USA delivery. the item was a 9.99 auction book----very, very, very thick/heavy. bidder was likely to be the only bid. so why risk spending 25/30 postage in a no-win situation. there is no delivery confirm at that rate., so if the buyer is not honorable, i lose the book, plus the postage. the upside would have been a net on 8.00. hence----stupid on my part.

i have never been burnt with buyers outside the USA, but the potential is there.

I guess the safer way is to acknowledge the payment and tell the buyer when
you are going to ship.
