Dale, The forensic lab said this can occasionally happen, the staining process remained neutral and there could be many reasons for this. But one possible reason they gave was that the samples we are using are so small. In this particular sample there was not a change in the acid/alkaline/pH staining so another paper is being retested by the same lab and by a separate forensic lab that we have also employed. We should have answers back any day now. We are trying to be as minimally invasive as possible and the samples we are taking are from the back side layer of the poster and are truly minute.
I am NOT charging Dave for this extra service, and as he stated we are both sure this poster is the real deal. I just wanted to have absolute validity as we continue to understand the forensic testing capabilities. On another note, out of the 63 poster we have had forensically tested, this is the first time the test was NOT conclusive in determining the age and they stated it as such which I relayed to Dave.
