flag that this 3-Sheet is from a later year than 1934. If the
seller is not aware of this type of situation occurring where
re-release posters are concerned, then I think they should check
with Bruce or some other knowledgeable dealer who can help them in
the process of selling their posters. There's too much at stake in
a situation like this. An original 1934 Bogart 3-Sheet would
probably sell for thousands of dollars. Conversely, late 40's
reissue would sell for a couple hundred at best.

By your disparaging tone, I take it that you're not interested in
this particular poster. But if it was one you were after, and got it
despite it being innocently misrepresented, I doubt you'd be
sounding off like this. Having read their full description of the
circumstances of the sale, I have no reason to think they're
anything other than genuine. And incidentally, IMDb merely states,
on the 'Midnight' listing, that it was 'also known as' Call it
Murder - with no specific information (on the main page) as to when
it was given that secondary title. Time to give these guys a break, methinks...

If it were high priced he'd be duping the public but at such a low

Hi, We are not poster experts- Just estate liquidators trying to do
the best we can. Not to insinuate that you aren't an expert, because
you may be, but we have received incorrect information through
bidders/potential buyers in messages just like this in an effort by
them to drive down prices at auction, so we will not revise our
listing; it is based on the print date shown on the poster. However,
we will post this message and let others make their own judgement.

I think a seller isn't necessarily expected to be an expert, but
is expected to research the item they're selling to the best of
their ability. All it takes is checking the title "Call It Murder"
on Google or IMDB and it becomes quite clear that this isn't an
original 1934 3-Sheet. I don't believe the buyer should have the
sole responsibility of researching the item they're bidding
on. It's the seller's responsibility to provide accurate
information as to whether a poster is "original" or not.
