Bruce, when you say you are responsible, does that mean each consignors
material is covered by your insurance company? And at what value?
I only ask because this is one of those areas that isn’t really ever talked
about and just assumed. God forbid your building was destroyed in last nights
storms and all the consignments were a total loss. Are you saying the
consignors will be reimbursed for their loss? By whom and at what %?

Guess I would rather ask now then later.

I guess the same question to Grey, Rich, et al.

Thanks!

We are responsible for every item we receive on consignment, from the moment it
arrives, to the time we pay the consignor.

We too have never had to make a claim. There have been a very few minor items
that I could not locate (from many years ago) and I paid a fair value for those
to the consignors.

I know that www.MoviePosterExchange.com has insurance to cover any items that
consignors have placed with us for sale, and know Heritage does also.

I do wonder about some of the restorers though.
Had a friend who sent in a one-sheet for Beast From 20,000 Fathoms to one of
the more well known restoration houses and they piece was inadvertently
destroyed while in their possession.
The response my friend got was basically, "Sorry about that, we can give you
some credit towards more restoration work if you'd like."

First, totally sorry for your loss. I couldn’t even imagine.

Your post along with Bruce's this morning brings up an interesting question
for Bruce or Grey or Rich or any other auction house where someone else's
material is being held. I don’t see this question being asked much:

What happens to a consignor's material if the building in which it is being
held is destroyed? SOL for the consignor?

Is my material protected under Bruce's insurance policy (if he has any)???

  Just curious.

  Thanks.

Just saw some reports on some of the tornado damage in Illionois. My
warehouse fire loss happened four weeks ago and just comming to grips with
it, but it wasn't my home or life loss involved. I can't imagine what it is
like for those that have lost loved ones and/or their homes.

Last night, the most amazing storms passed through our area. I felt exactly
like I was on the S.S. Minnow, because our entire town was tossing and turning
in the wind!

I know Branson got hit hard, but the movie poster capital of the world came
through relatively unscathed!

But I wasn't so sure of the outcome at 2 AM when you could see trees bending
and the tornado sirens were blaring!

  Thanks to those who inquired.

  Bruce
