Well, is it possible that a MOPO member might get his computer infected with a virus, a nasty one, if he innocently opens the link contained in the hackers' mail?? If the answer is yes, than the question becomes what is more important, the good of the whole group, or temporarily removing a member until he solve HIS problem? If removing a member seems too harsh, then with all due respect, I think that at the very least, the group should've been alerted of this impending danger.

Since the spam is actually coming from, in this case, Eric's e-mail address, the listserv things it is legit. I get these in my personal inbox all the time--the incoming e-mail always is coming from someone I know, so I'm assuming that person's computer has been compromised and the spammer is grabbing e-mail from their address book ??? Anyone on the list with more knowledge on the subject care to comment?
