Never mind the entire point I made about how conservatives perenially seek to silence the Academy, and (as you always avoid) even sought to silence that radical professor "Robert Pirsig". So you can keep blowharding the Hannity Show, I think most of us recognize "that's just right-wing politics" as Pirsig had so rightfully observed. [Platt] Let us once again look at the facts instead of Arlo's looney left propaganda: [Arlo] And there is a commie under every bed. I've seen these reports. They attempt to label anything slightly centrist as "leftist", and paint a picture of bias to simply drum up fear. So you have left-wing bias here, right-wing bias there, and nothing but political blowhards and party morons wailing out Wurlitzers about how this or that is so unfairly balanced... and more, how this presents a Great Crisis for America that, lo and behond, only the other party, you know, the one that is loyal and freedom loving, can solve. Me, I don't read the news at all. The majority of it is nothing but pathetic infotainment, pandering to fear and violence, sucking on the teets of degenerate celebrities, and striving to "shock" and "awe" us about the latest "threat" or "mayhem" that should make us cower under our beds. And then talk-radio, well, you evidence here the absolute moronic nature of that rhetoric, a nature laid bare by Marha's recent posting, that truly servers nothing but pandering to xenophobia, and the use of divisive rhetoric to fuck America while sucking the dicks of party ideologues (you'll have to excuse my vivid metaphors, I can't think of any softer way to say it, or reason to for that matter). And rather than rising above it, rather than bringing valid criticisms down on the _entire system_, you choose to do nothing but squalk idiotic and moronic party soundbites. Yes, its just those evil "libs", they lie and cheat and deceive. But not use noble conservatives, nosirree. This was Ant's point. That you've chosen this path is sad. So of course your only rejoinder to this was "you evil lib", you have to create your polar opposite, Batman has to create the Joker. At any rate, its just evidence of the first tactic of the right-wing propaganda machine, vilify the media and vilify the academy. They are, after all, nothing but bastions of "evil libs" who are "anti-freedom" and who use deception and lie, all the while poor, noble conservatives and honest right-wing reporting (sniff sniff) is censored. So you keep squalking the Party Soundbite, Platt, you keep tellin' everyone how those evil "libs" and their anti-freedom agenda should give us reason to loathe the academy and the press. No matter what moronic statements you make about "left wing loonies", the only loony you evidence is yourself. But I'm sure that won't stop you from responding to this by telling everyone what an evil, commie, freedom-hating "lib" I am. Hey, the rhetoric works for Limbaugh, it should work for you, right? [Platt] What a laugh. The drumbeat from the media is all left wing, as the study cited above proves. [Arlo] And the drumbeat of talk-radio continues... Boom, evil libs, boom, anti-freedom, boom, in bed with the terrorists, boom, radical professors, boom, leftist media... its a sad cliche anymore. [Platt] Yes, memorials to the millions slaughtered by the Viet Cong and Pol Pot after the our liberal Congress cut off funds to South Vietnam and surrendered to the Communists. (Exactly what they would like to do now in Iraq.) [Arlo] Ah, yes, I figured if we waited for it, it would come out. Yes, those blasted "libs" who want to surrender to commies. Heck, most of them are in bed with the terrorists. And they want America to lose! They hate our troops!
