Humour is not anti-seriousness. In fact, it is quite a valuable tool
to become serious, if humour is aligned with the right kind of
rhetoric (eg., favouring truth and strength over ignorance and
mediocrity). Even if the beast laughs at you for choosing to quit your
addiction to sucking cancer sticks, the last laugh is going to be only
on him.
