Yes I would, and thanks. By the way, are you knowledgeable about carbon?
I saw on TV tonight a documentary about nanotubes made of carbon that promise
to produce composites ten times the strength of steel or more. The show appeared
coincidentally because this morning I spent some time at a jewelery store
looking
at diamond baguettes which I believe are carbon. (My wife wants an addition to
her engagement ring for our upcoming anniversary.) Then I was reminded that
Pirsig
talked about the characteristics of carbon that made it especially suited to
create new forms. Finally carbon coal is a source of energy. Seems that if any
material could be classified as especially susceptible to the vagaries of chance
and probability it would be carbon. Haven't I read somewhere that it's also the
basis of life?

I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on the subject although what it
has to do with philosophy is a stretch other than Pirsig seems to attribute
to it magical qualities. After looking at (and pricing) diamonds, I can
say carbon can have very high value.
