dmb said to Ron:
...The pre-intellectual reality is DQ so that it is neither static nor
intellectual. DQ refers to experience, the cutting edge of experience,
prior to intellectualizations or any static interpretations.

Ron replied:
I agree also, but, if this experience is neither static nor
intellectual, Then where does it figure in conceptually? What does one
call this awareness? ...pre-intellectual experience is described as
essential To the concept of Quality but it does not fall into any of the
levels That is said to encompass all of reality. It is not indefinable
for Pirsig, Dewey and James define it. If it has a static element (which
it seems to possess) it is not covered by the levels.

dmb says:
Like I just said, DQ is the concept that refers to an experience that is
pre-intellectual and not static. That's why we call it dynamic and
pre-intellectual. Quality is not limited to the static kind. The first
distinction in the MOQ is between static and dynamic so that the levels
are only something like HALF of the MOQ. DQ is not defined. It is
described as being outside of definitions. One of the best ways to get a
grip on what DQ references is to say what it is NOT, namely that it is
NOT static, NOT intellectual and NOT definable.

Ron:
So, this is where static meets dynamic, pre-intellect is dynamic
quality.
Once one is in the dynamic you are dealing with the mystical.
DmB, would you loosely describe this as an awareness?
A dynamic awareness arrived at through static intellectual patterns?
