     SA:
The U.S. is geographically and seemingly
philosophically in the middle. Europe and the
Amerindian met here. The values of these two cultures
met. Wars and discussions between these two cultures
made this U.S. culture what it is. The Amerindian
culture is in the Declaration of Indenpendence and the
U.S. Constitution. The Amerindian culture has old
roots that span back into Asia. Asian people have
been bringing their culture here for over 100 years
since the U.S. gained independence. I see Zen
historically as a philosophy that strips down the
clap-trap of flowery Asian culture to the roots of a
more grounded way that is kin to Amerindian culture
and as Europe merged with this stripped down version
of culture and land where the wilderness was vast,
Europeans felt the wind blow through their minds and
the clear creeks strip down their clap-trap to the
roots of a more grounded way.
