A lot of truth in that, but I would re-phrase ...

GOF Secularism "has traditionally been" such a tool.

Religion is a tool too .. for reminding us that even SOMism /
SOMist-Science can't (shouldn't / mustn't) ignore values.

Enlightened secularism - eg MoQism - has learned the errors of those
GOF SOMist / Religious / Idolatrous / Scientific ways.

PS for a definition of secularism - see the DMB post, agnosticism (an
interested, enlightened kind) is the new secularism. Athesism is so
passe - see Platt for details.
