Two points ... One, "reason" is indeed the problem ... remember the Church of Reason ... and I already mentioned Harris acknowledges that rationality / reason is a whole 'nother specturm of issues, once you've swept blind (intolerant / ignorant) faith out of the way. Two, Ron's word "intolerance", or the opposite "tolerance", is precisley the thought that was behind my "good faith" post. For the moment let me just throw a few other words into that pot (Need to read Arlo's post in that thread). "Tolerance", "Good Faith", "Grace", so far ... try these ... "Trust", "Fairness" (remember Pirsig dwelt on this), .... Love, tough love even, but love nevertheless ... We have some dots to join up.
