"Arlo denies the individual self" is slanderous rhetortic, and a gross distortion of anything he does actually say. Par for the course in that respect. What he does say, largely quoting Pirsig, is that the individual self perceived as "me" is an emergent concept, not a primary reality. Nowhere does he deny its existence, he clarifies the nature of its existence. Piffling detail of course, if Platt still has his head up his dichotomy.
