My maternal grandparents  both had died by the time I was born.  My 
paternal grandfather died when I was not quite two.  My paternal 
grandmother didn't have much to say, but she has had a great 
influence on my life.

I find it easy to feel the presence of past native peoples in the 
woods.  It feels good.
