SA: How will ROL be recieved by the U.S. gov't? When
ROL began this reassertion ca. 30 years ago, Wounded
Knee Two happened. How would the U.S. react to those
within its' own border, not the ROL border, but say
here in Pennsylvania? With more people finding
agreement with ROL, not just in the U.S., but in other
countries, and other gov'ts considering ROL and taking
steps to formalize relations, how will the U.S. gov't
react? That's what I'm talking about.

Ron:
Interesting question SA, the gov will most certainly make
Things difficult.
The difference is that the native peoples are playing
By the Gov rules this time. They are playing the game
Monetarily and legally. They are playing smart this time.
AIM met force with force in '73. Many nations are now in
Legal battles with the U.S,. gov. and are winning under
the law.
Yet there will be conflict eventually. The Gov refuses
To enforce and punish U.S. citizens who commit crimes
On tribal lands. The gov refuses to allow u.s. citizens
To be tried under tribal law.
Child molesters know this and target
Tribal children knowing they will be protected under
This provision.
It's a long row to hoe SA. But if the Lakota stay the course
Change will occur. With tribal wealth comes tribal power
Under the Gov. laws. In this system wealth is power.
