Sure they are. Tell me a number that is not a word....

I mentioned semiosis because you apparently think that writing it "2+2=4"
(mathematical notation) is somehow different from the words this sentence
conveys (namely "two plus two equals four").

I mean, when you read this "2+2=4" in your head, don't you say the "words"?
