Hello All,
I've begun a new thread because i should like to rephrase what i have in mind
in terms of a thought experiment: moq thought experiment 1.

The experiment may be thought of as an existential question regarding the
maximising of DQ.

1. The moq states that DQ is real and moral.
2. Static patterns regarded?as being?'more dynamic' maximise DQ and potential
for further evolution.
3.?It?is therefore a moral imperative to promote 2.

David replied to Krimel's question as follows:
Krimel asked dmb:
What sort of experiences do you think transcend sensory experience? What
exactly
comes wandering through this door you think you are opening?

dmb replies:
Value. Quality. A shift in consciousness, a mystical experience. There are all
sorts of powerful and meaningful experiences that don't come through the sense
organs.

David's answer is precisely that of the moq, and he is agreeing with it.
I also agree with it, and this leads to the thought experiment by rephrasing
David's response:

4. Mystical experience (of DQ) does not come through the sense organs.
5. Sense organs are therefore not required.
6. From 3: Proposition A: DQ can be maximised by isolating organic brains from
sense experience on an industrial scale.

Proposition A. utilises the argument: If something is good, then more of it is
better.
That which is good here (from 2.) is: The maximising of DQ within a static
structure.

The Earth could conceivably maintain 100 billion such states while
simultaneously leaving the biosphere alone.
In fact, these states could theoretically?occupy interstellar space with a
minimum drain on links to a supporting biosphere while utilising solar energy
for its requirements.
There would be no need to maintain 100 billion organic bodies, and
potentially?little political structures.

This seems to be a logically sound conclusion based on moq premise.

It may be objected that evolution is not promoted here.
It may be countered that the teleological goal of evolution as suggested by the
moq is achieved.

What do you think?
