[Marsha]
I focused on pregnancy because its an experience I know. This to me is
where Western scientific thinking falls flat on it face. It thinks it
knows. It develops answers to problems it thinks it knows, and then tells
itself how wonderful it is to know so much, while it ignores all its
mistakes.

I suspect you're a scientific realist. Are you?

[Krimel]
I don't know what a scientific realist is but I seem to collect labels here
so sure, you can slap that one on me. I like is better than religious
fanatic but you can call me that too if you like.

I think you are misunderstanding western scientific thinking because I think
it is exactly the opposite of what you say above. Science does not think it
"knows" in fact it assumes it does not and keeps asking questions hoping to
get better answers so it can ask better questions. It does not make dogmatic
statements. It makes provisional ones. In fact I think one could make the
case that Eastern thought is much more dogmatic in this respect than western
scientific thinking which is perhaps why so many in the east are looking to
the west, not so much for answers as for how to frame questions.
